Trade Finance (TPC)

Seamless handling of international trade instruments

We specialize in processing trade finance instruments, such as letters of credit and collections. We act as both the exporter’s and the importer’s bank. The process is handled end-to-end, starting with the receipt of an MT700/710 message from the issuing bank and its notification to the exporter’s bank, through document verification, all the way to the execution of payment/financing.

Each stage is also subject to a more thorough analysis for compliance assessment. In the letter of credit process, the greatest challenge is the stage of verifying that the documents comply with the terms of the letter of credit and UCP600.

How we can assist you

Notification

Verification of the letter of credit terms for compliance with the bank’s procedures and UCP600 regulations. Posting the bank’s liability in cooperation with financial institutions—bank representatives responsible for credit lines.

Document Verification

Checking documents presented under a letter of credit for compliance with the letter of credit/amendment and the provisions of UCP and ISBP.

Payment and Financing Execution

In-depth analysis of the entire letter of credit is paramount to our process. We meticulously examine conditions and possibilities, culminating in the precise execution of payments for goods covered by the letter of credit. Our services extend to providing foreign payments in various currencies, ensuring an appropriate and secure payment path.

Making payments and providing financing

After thoroughly analyzing the entire letter of credit and reviewing its terms and conditions, we make payment for the goods covered by the letter of credit. We offer international payments in various currencies, ensuring compliance with the appropriate payment process.

Applicant Financing (Postfinancing)

At the applicant’s request, after establishing the appropriate terms, we are able to provide funds for immediate payment to the beneficiary in the form of a loan granted on highly preferential terms.

Payment processing as a “third-party bank”

We process payments as a so-called “third bank,” effectively outside the letter of credit. In such cases, we act based on authorization from the applicant’s bank and a payment order from the beneficiary’s bank, settling all necessary fees and adhering to the payment path appropriate for the respective bank.

Collection processing

Entering data into systems based on a request from the exporter or their bank. Preparing lists for document dispatch. Monitoring payment deadlines. Settling costs and making payments to the exporter or their bank.

Commercial Risk Hedging

Active risk participation involves transferring the risks associated with commercial transactions to the secondary market through financial institutions (ICTBS, emerging market banks, and global banks) or (re)insurers (NBFI) (with the involvement of an insurance broker, intermediary, or other entities as needed). Individual transactions are governed by an MRPA/MPA (Master Risk Participation Agreement) or a similar agreement and cover country risk and the counterparty risk of the initiating bank (the recourse party), but do not cover operational risk arising from the underlying transaction or document processing. Underlying transactions primarily (but not exclusively) include letters of credit, guarantees, and trade finance.

Trade Finance Support

We are responsible for maintaining, developing, and supporting key applications and processes that underpin global Trade Finance operations. The team ensures the stability of the production environment, manages incidents and changes, supports business users, and implements initiatives related to automation, transformation, and process optimization. This area includes operational and technical support for the Doka, TI+, Phoenix, and TradeAI systems, as well as the development of solutions based on SharePoint, Oracle SQL, Excel, and the Power Platform.

Comprehensive KYC/AML process support for banks and financial institutions

KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML/CFT are key elements of financial risk management and regulatory compliance in banks and other financial institutions. Properly designed and implemented processes help mitigate the risks of money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions violations, and establishing relationships with entities with an unacceptable risk profile. KYC verification is a mandatory procedure for regulated institutions such as banks and other financial institutions. It is designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws and to protect customers from criminal activities such as money laundering and terrorist financing.

Since 2014, we have been supporting domestic and international financial institutions in implementing KYC/AML processes. More than 300 analysts, experts, quality control specialists, and managers handle thousands of cases of varying complexity each month. We combine operational experience, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and a scalable service model, which enables us to act as a long-term business process outsourcing (BPO) partner for banks.
